Helping Children Overcome Their Fears
Get To Know Dr. Jas
Born in Charleston and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Jas Guram always knew he wanted to be in a profession where he could combine his passion for healthcare and his desire to help others overcome their fears, something familiar to Dr. Jas due to his own childhood fear of flying. Knowing that visiting the dentist could invoke fear in a child, Dr. Jas decided to make pediatric dentistry his calling!
Standing at 6' 6", Dr. Jas always considered himself as the big, friendly giant. With a ready smile and truly a kid at heart, he set about his mission of making sure each dental visit would be a fun and fearless experience.
Dr. Jas completed his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina and later earned his DMD from the University of Florida, where he made the Dean's list and finished top 10% in his class. He also completed his pediatric dental residency at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Jas is a board-certified pediatric dentist and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Association.
Dr. Jas is also passionate about giving back to his community. For years, he has organized and participated in international mission trips to both improve his dental skills and to gain a deeper perspective of other cultures. He has also provided free dental screenings and interactive demonstrations in elementary and middle schools throughout the country and has volunteered to provide free or reduced dental care to adults and children, who otherwise could not afford dental treatment.
Dr. Jas's wife, Neetu Guram, is a board certified physician also serving the Rock Hill community. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with their family and friends, watching sports, traveling, and playing tennis.

Giving Back
Dr. Jas's Commitment to Serving Others
For years, Dr. Jas has dedicated his time to giving back to his community that extends beyond his home state.
He organized and participated in mission trips to the Bahamas in 2016 and 2017 where he was able to hone his skills and be immersed in another culture. From 2016 to 2018, he was a Community Service Coordinator and then President of Special Olympics for Smiley Gators.
In 2016, Dr. Jas placed sealants and provided free dental screenings to students at Hawthorne Middle School, and has consistently participated in Super Sealant Saturday. He also volunteered at the Alachua County Flag Football and Bowling Special Olympics competitions, and volunteered at Missions of Mercy Dental Access Day where he helped provide free dental services to underserved and low-income families of Florida.
In 2017, Dr. Jas participated in Back 2 School Bash where he helped provide over 650 free dental screenings to underserved children at Camping World Stadium in the Orlando area. That same year, he helped organize and carry out an interactive demonstration to teach children the importance of oral health care at Lessons in a Lunch Box Williams Elementary School.
Since 2017, Dr. Jas has been a WeCare volunteer at Santa Fe Community College to provide free or reduced dental care to people who otherwise could not afford dental treatment.
All of these experiences have helped shape him into the hardworking, compassionate pediatric dentist he is today.
