Get to Know Dr. Jas

Born in Charleston and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Jas Guram always knew he wanted a career that blended healthcare with helping others overcome fear. Having experienced his own childhood fear of flying, he understood firsthand how powerful fear can be—and how important it is to meet it with patience, understanding, and reassurance.

Recognizing that many children feel anxious about dental visits, Dr. Jas found his calling in pediatric dentistry. Standing at 6’6”, he proudly embraces his role as the “big, friendly giant.” With a warm smile and a genuine love for working with kids, he strives to make every dental visit a positive and fun experience.

Dr. Jas earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina and went on to receive his D.M.D. from the University of Florida, where he graduated on the Dean’s List and in the top 10% of his class. He completed his pediatric dental residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and is a board-certified pediatric dentist. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.

A Commitment to Community

Beyond the practice, Dr. Jas is deeply committed to giving back. He has organized and participated in international mission trips, provided free dental screenings and interactive demonstrations in schools, and volunteered dental care for children and adults who otherwise could not afford treatment. This same spirit of service and compassion is reflected both in his practice and in New Heights, Cool Bites!.

Dr. Jas and his wife, Neetu Guram—a board-certified physician serving the Rock Hill community—enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching sports, and playing tennis.
